Sorry I'm soo behind on this....
So a few weekends ago I went to Denver! As you know I've started a business with Arbonne and my upline and Executive National Vice President is Tarrah and she lives in Denver and so does most of her team! Tarrah and my friend Samantha were roommates at UT together so thats the connection. Anyways, we were going up to Denver for a Retreat for all of Tarrah's downline. The retreat was all day Saturday, but I flew in on the first flight on Friday morning, it was the cheapest!
So, basically I had the whole day to find something to do in Denver. I have never been to Denver before so I looked up a few things to do. I got in and went and picked up my rental car and drove to downtown Denver. I'm pretty proud of myself, because I'm not really a person who likes to do things by herself. And I flew out to Denver by myself and entertained myself most of the day. The other people I knew coming in weren't going to be there until later in the day. So I parked downtown and decided to walk over to the Capitol Building and check it out!
Did you know that Colorado's Capitol was designed by the same guy who designed Texas' Capitol! Pretty cool!! You could seem some similarities! Of course Texas' is bigger, because everything in Texas is bigger!! ;)
Anyways I went inside and took a tour and learn a little bit about the building and Colorado!
After the tour I climbed a ton of stairs and went up to the top of dome and got a great look at Denver!
This is a church in Denver, actually Molly Brown (who I'll talk more about later) help fund this church!
And these are the local government offices for like the mayor and such. Although I did learn that I forget, either the House or Senate of Colorado now meets over there! Very pretty!
After touring the Capitol, I walked over to Molly Brown's house! Now when I told some people I did this, a few of them asked, "Who's Molly Brown?" I'll be honest, it kind of hurt my feelings that they didn't know who that was!! And then I would say, "The Unsinkable Molly Brown?" Some would get it, some wouldn't. But most people know Molly because she was on the Titanic! "New money" as they described her in James Cameron's "Titanic." Anywho, she lived in Denver and this was her house!
Unfortunately I couldn't take any pictures inside, but I learned so much more about Molly Brown. Did you know she was a women's activist and worked closely with many charities!! She really wasn't like what most movies these days make her out to be. In fact, she was NEVER called Molly! Margaret was her name and that's what people called her. Years later someone dubbed her Molly Brown because it was easier to say! Crazy!! Anyways I got a book about her in the gift shop, so far so good!!
After that I walked back towards Downtown Denver and went to the famous 16th Street Mall area. It is pretty much a street that you can only walk down or ride a FREE shuttle bus down. NO CARS! And there are tons of shops and restaurants along the way. I stopped and had lunch and then hopped on the bus to take in the sites! Very cool area! I may or may not have done some shopping afterwards! ;)
After that Samantha had gotten into town and I went and met up with her at her aunt's house, who lives just outside of Denver!
The rest of the weekend was dedicated to Arbonne and man did a learn some good stuff! It was very inspiring too! Hearing so many great stories of how this has changed people's lives was incredible!
Check out this picture, we pulled up to the hotel and look at all these WHITE MERCEDES!! And this is just all because of Tarrah!!
(I don't recommend driving and taking pictures, but I had to get this shot!) We saw all these cars and thought to ourselves, WOW I think I might learn something today! For those that don't know, once you get to a certain management level in Arbonne, you get to pick out any white Mercedes and Arbonne pays for you to have it!! :)
Here are the Texas girls on our team that got to make it out to Denver!!
And here is us with Tarrah!
