Lately

Well the first month of the new year has just about come and gone. It has been a crazy busy one for us. Work has been busy for both of us this month to start with! Kevin is still loving his new job of creating mobile applications for companies! Real Estate has actually been busy for me this month, which is odd for a January and we've been dealing with accounting stuff to get 1099s out to property owners. Then of course we went to Glendale for the National Championship Game and had a great time! The next week, Kevin's grandfather passed away so we went to Alabama for 3 days. Then this week, Kevin's great-grandmother passed away. I don't think we're going to be able to go back out to Alabama with Kevin having so little vacation time and the expensive cost of flights! But its been a long and stressful month for us. Pray for Kevin and his family with all the tragedy that him and his family have been dealing with in such a short amount of time!!

Basically I'm ready for February!! Addison turns 3 this month, so we have a fun birthday paryt to attend soon! And of course Valentine's Day is soon. I can't wait to spend it with my hubby!! So here's to hoping that February is less crazy busy and full of good things!!

Prayers

Please pray for Kevin and his family as his grandfather passed away Wednesday night. He had a stroke about a week ago and was really bad at first, but then we thought he was improving, but they it just got bad again. We flew into Alabama yesterday morning to be with everyone. Tonight is the viewing and tomorrow is the funeral. I know that this is a hard time for all of them as this is the first grandparent they have lost.

In addition, their great grandmother is nearing her end as well. She hasn't been in great health for awhile, but she had a bad fall a few weeks back and has been in the hospital ever since. She is to the point where every day she is asking Jesus to take her home. We got the chance to go visit her yesterday and she was talking up a storm, most of which didn't make sense or you couldn't understand and a few times we thought we lost her while we were there. I know that is hard for everyone to see her like this. So just pray for everyone as they are going through a lot of hard times all at once!

Pink Cake/Bachelorette

So I just thought this was funny and had to post about it!! I wanted to post this on facebook last night but Kevin wouldn't let me, he didn't want me to embarrass him!! hahaha, but I told him I was going to post it on our blog and he said fine, probably because he doesn't think many people read this!! Anyway, last night we were watching the Bachelorette with my dear friend Sarah, like we do every Monday night! On Sunday Kevin and I had gone to the grocery store and I told him to pick out anything on the baking aisle and I would make it for him this week. He picked out a strawberry cake and strawberry icing! So tonight we're watching the Bachelorette and the cake is finally done and I captured this picture!

But here is Kevin eating pink cake with pink icing while watching the BACHELORETTE!! I think he fits right in to girl's nights!! :)

Auburn Wins National Championship!!

We had an amazing time in Glendale watching Auburn win the National Title!!!

TX/UCONN Basketball Game

Ashley and Patrick came down this weekend and stayed with us! We went to the TX/UCONN Basketball game on Saturday!! We ended up on the 5th row; it was a great game that went into over time, but in the last seconds we lost by 1 point!! MAN! But we had a good time anyways!

After the game, we went to Logan's for dinner and then came back to the house for a night of wine, beer and games!! We had fun!

Today we went to church and then Ashley and Patrick headed back up to snowy Dallas! Kevin and did a few errands and then spent the rest of the day relaxing because TOMORROW we head to PHOENIX for the National Championship Game! WHOOHOO! And the most exciting this is Kevin and I finally got tickets today!! The ticket ordeal has been ridiculous this year! There are only about 60,000 something seats at the stadium (WAY lower than most college venues) and ticket broker short sold alot of people so bottom line is ticket prices ended up steadily increasing! Usually ticket prices end up getting cheaper closer to game time. At one point last week tickets were about $5k for ONE ticket!!! Right now they are around $2k-3k for ONE ticket. So we've been holding out waiting to see if we could find something more reasonable, even planning on scalping tickets once we got to Phoenix! But today we came across some and are super excited!!! GO AUBURN!!!

New Year's Day BBQ- GUEST BLOGGER!!

This is Kevin! So Alicean's parents gave me a smoker for Christmas, and I decided to use New Year's Day as the the day to break it out!  I had a friend who made a Sausage fatty a few weeks back, and it was delicious, so I decided to take a stab at it.  It's a bacon wrapped sausage roll with a few different ingredients.  Smoke it for two hours, and its done!

It was incredible! 

Kevin's Birthday/New Year's Eve!!

Sorry I haven't updated in a bit...here's a rundown of what you missed! Kevin's Birthday I woke up and made him Hash Browns, Scrambled Eggs, and Bacon! I got to go pick him up and take him out for lunch. For dinner I took Kevin out to Moonshine which neither of us had been to, but heard it was soo good and IT WAS!! Kevin got shrimp corndogs for an appetizers, and got a half chicken marinaded in dr pepper sauce with their "SPECIAL" mac & cheese. I got chicken friend steak with mashed potatoes. We really had a great time! We came back to the house and had ice cream cake!!

Then for New Years we went out to eat with some of our friends at a whole in the wall Italian Restaurant. We had a great time! Afterwards some of us came back to our house for drinks and games to ring in the new year!
