Denver

Sorry I'm soo behind on this....

So a few weekends ago I went to Denver! As you know I've started a business with Arbonne and my upline and  Executive National Vice President is Tarrah and she lives in Denver and so does most of her team! Tarrah and my friend Samantha were roommates at UT together so thats the connection. Anyways, we were going up to Denver for a Retreat for all of Tarrah's downline. The retreat was all day Saturday, but I flew in on the first flight on Friday morning, it was the cheapest!

So, basically I had the whole day to find something to do in Denver. I have never been to Denver before so I looked up a few things to do. I got in and went and picked up my rental car and drove to downtown Denver. I'm pretty proud of myself, because I'm not really a person who likes to do things by herself. And I flew out to Denver by myself and entertained myself most of the day. The other people I knew coming in weren't going to be there until later in the day. So I parked downtown and decided to walk over to the Capitol Building and check it out!

Did you know that Colorado's Capitol was designed by the same guy who designed Texas' Capitol! Pretty cool!! You could seem some similarities! Of course Texas' is bigger, because everything in Texas is bigger!! ;)

Anyways I went inside and took a tour and learn a little bit about the building and Colorado!

After the tour I climbed a ton of stairs and went up to the top of dome and got a great look at Denver!

This is a church in Denver, actually Molly Brown (who I'll talk more about later) help fund this church!

And these are the local government offices for like the mayor and such. Although I did learn that I forget, either the House or Senate of Colorado now meets over there! Very pretty!

After touring the Capitol, I walked over to Molly Brown's house! Now when I told some people I did this, a few of them asked, "Who's Molly Brown?" I'll be honest, it kind of hurt my feelings that they didn't know who that was!! And then I would say, "The Unsinkable Molly Brown?" Some would get it, some wouldn't. But most people know Molly because she was on the Titanic! "New money" as they described her in James Cameron's "Titanic." Anywho, she lived in Denver and this was her house!

Unfortunately I couldn't take any pictures inside, but I learned so much more about Molly Brown. Did you know she was a women's activist and worked closely with many charities!! She really wasn't like what most movies these days make her out to be. In fact, she was NEVER called Molly! Margaret was her name and that's what people called her. Years later someone dubbed her Molly Brown because it was easier to say! Crazy!! Anyways I got a book about her in the gift shop, so far so good!!

After that I walked back towards Downtown Denver and went to the famous 16th Street Mall area. It is pretty much a street that you can only walk down or ride a FREE shuttle bus down. NO CARS! And there are tons of shops and restaurants along the way. I stopped and had lunch and then hopped on the bus to take in the sites! Very cool area! I may or may not have done some shopping afterwards! ;)

After that Samantha had gotten into town and I went and met up with her at her aunt's house, who lives just outside of Denver!

The rest of the weekend was dedicated to Arbonne and man did a learn some good stuff! It was very inspiring too! Hearing so many great stories of how this has changed people's lives was incredible!

Check out this picture, we pulled up to the hotel and look at all these WHITE MERCEDES!! And this is just all because of Tarrah!!

(I don't recommend driving and taking pictures, but I had to get this shot!) We saw all these cars and thought to ourselves, WOW I  think I might learn something today! For those that don't know, once you get to a certain management level in Arbonne, you get to pick out any white Mercedes and Arbonne pays for you to have it!! :)

Here are the Texas girls on our team that got to make it out to Denver!!

And here is us with Tarrah!

Busy Busy Busy

Man, have we been busy! I'll catch you up on what has been going on around our house! Last Saturday Sarah and I went and saw Monte Carlo during the day. It was really cute! I love Sarah, did I mention that lately!? I'm so thankful for our friendship, she is the best!! Anywho, Saturday night we invited the welcome team that I help lead on Sundays at church over for a get together! Kevin smoked a brisket all day and we had a great time getting to know everyone better that I serve with!

Sunday began with a 6:25AM wake up call! YUCK! I decide to get up and go with Kevin to church so we would only take one car. I don't like waking up that early! We went to church and then had a leadership meeting for our campus after the services! It was great to see the vision we have for our campus and the neat things we are planning to hopefully make it a more community feel! That evening we had dinner and played games with one of Kevin's co-workers and his wife!

Monday we finally had a relaxing evening of watching THE BACHELORETTE! Sarah was out of town so it wasn't the same without her, but Kevin filled in as best he could ;) On Tuesday we met with our missional community group as always!

Yesterday I took food over to a friends of ours who just got 3 kiddos through foster care! Props to them, they are doing soo good having gone from 0 kids to 3 over night! Be praying for them! After that we went to dinner with my good friends Nicole & Adrian. Nicole was my roommate for 3 years? I think thats right! During and after college! They are moving back to their home town for jobs, so we had a nice dinner with them before they move on Saturday!! :( Hopefully they'll make it back up to Austin to live again someday!

Today we are having some of the production team from our church over for dinner! Kevin serves in that area at church, so we are having people over for fellowship and such! And tomorrow I leave for Denver for an Arbonne Retreat! I've never been to Denver so I'm going to take in some sights tomorrow!! I'll take some good pictures! :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

4th of July Weekend

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend! On Friday, Kevin's siblings came into town! Friday night we went and hit up Salt Lick! That night we played games, specifically farkle. If you haven't played, it is so much fun!! :)

On Saturday we got up early and went to eat at Juan in a Million. If you haven't heard of it or been, it is a must! They are known for their Don Juan, which is a breakfast burrito with cheese, potatoes, egg, and bacon! Delicious!

After Juan in A Million we hit up South Congress and checked out some of the interesting store! They have this old fashion soda shop and candy store! AMAZING! I got me some salt water taffy! :) That afternoon we just hung out and then went to dinner and played more games that evening.

On Sunday we went to church and then headed up to my parents ranch for their annual 4th of July celebration! Unfortunately this year we could only do sparklers and small fountain fireworks because of the drought! But we had a good time!

On Monday we headed back to Austin and went to The Hale's July 4th Party!! We had a great time!
