Carter- The Last 12 Months

Carter's 12 Months Old

My baby is a little boy! A bit about him right now...

* Carter loves to play with blocks! He loves taking them apart and pulling them out of something and putting them back in.

* Carter loves to talk.  Mostly its jibber jabber, but we have conversations back and forth. He says DaDa allllll the time. Usually just says MaMa when he's fussy and wants me. He also loves saying Uh Oh especially when he drops something.

*He knows if we say snack time, lunch, milk, or water that it means food or drink and he starts smacking his lips together. Too cute!

* He's walking like crazy these days. Still a bit wobbly and will eventually fall, but getting better and better each day. He's so cute and when he's standing, he'll raise his arms half way and then take off while holding his arms half way up.

* Sleeping 11-12 hours at night. Goes to bed between 7:30-8:30pm depending on when you woke up from your previous nap. Then he'll wake up between 7-7:30am usually.

* Carter takes 2 naps a day for an hour to hour and a half. Usually we go down between 10-10:30 and then between 3-4pm.

* No more bottles for big man. All sippy cups. We also transitioned to whole milk last week. (Mommy's super excited because that means no more pumping!!!) Moving to milk didn't seem to phase him at all.

*Carter loves drinking water throughout the day as well and he's started to use a straw sometimes too.

*He still loves food. Can't give this kid enough food, let me tell you! I think he more than me!! He's favorite things are: turkey dogs, deli meat, Mexican food, cheese, yogurt, green beans, peas, mangos, peaches, any kind of beans.

* Still clingy but he's getting much better. He'll play on his own for awhile as long as I'm close by. If I decide to go into the kitchen and do something (even though he can still see me), he get pretty fussy and wants me to hold him.

* Carter is a big flirt, he loves smiling at strangers. Always hamming it up when he can.

* He has started to get a bit of an attitude some for attention though. Yells out for attention.

*Loves going outside and now that its cooled down we will have to do it more often.

*Had his 12 month check up today and here are his stats.

             Weight- 23lbs 13 oz (65%)- shedding some of that baby weight now that he's walking.
              Height- 32 inches (95%) - I wonder where he gets that?
              Head Circumference- 47.7 cm (80%)

Next up will be his 15 month appointment!

Carter's 1st BDAY Party!

We had a Carnival/Circus Theme for Carter's 1st Birthday party yesterday!! I think it turned out great- thanks to Etsy and to Sarah helping me put it all together!! Carter had a blast and really hammed it up with everyone!

Happy 1st Birthday to my precious son, Carter!!

I'm pretty emotional thinking about how that baby became this boy....

Carter, you have turned our world upside down..for the BETTER! You are the funniest, sweetest boy in the world. You put a smile on mine and your daddy's face EVERY SINGLE DAY! We prayed and prayed that God would bring us a precious baby and he answered our prayer by giving us you!!! You are the biggest blessing in our life. This past year has been such a joy watching you grow into such a big boy! So many milestones have been hit from your first laugh that brought us so much joy, to when you first rolled over, to your first crawl, your first tooth, eating your first foods, and watching you take your first steps.

This is the first of many birthdays we will be celebrating you! I can only imagine how fast the years will fly by, but you will always be my little boy. The precious boy that loves his mama and dada.

We love you Carter Anderson Harwood....

TX/OU Weekend 2013

Last weekend was the annual TX/OU weekend and needless to say, it will go down in the history books as a BIG one!! I was fully prepared we were going to lose, but I'm not sure what team showed up because WE WON!! We dominated that game on both sides of the ball. I was HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!! Our friends Sarah and Chad went with us and this was Sarah's first time to the fair and game! And Chad (Sarah's fiance) is an OU fan, so we tried to tame our excited a bit for his sake!
