We are Having.....

Kevin and I are happy to announce....

We are having another boy!!!! Carter will be excited SOMEDAY to have a little brother to play with!! I'm prepared that I will have messy, dirty boys, something I know nothing about having only had a sister. But I'm excited, it will be an adventure for sure!! Lots of fun sporting events to watch our boys thrive!! And in about 10-12 years I'm sure I'll never be able to keep the pantry stocked with enough food!!

And we finally came up with a NAME!! Blake is a random name we both liked. Porter is my Grandpa's (Dad's dad) middle name.

So excited to expand this family to FOUR!!

God is Good

God is good!! We listed our house on Friday and by end of day we were  not only under contract, but it was a cash offer over asking price!! AND we close in less than 2 weeks. WOW!!! God is definitely answering our prayers.

So we'll be closing on our current house and then leasing it back a couple of weeks until we can close on our new house!!

SOOOO the HARWOODS are moving in less than a MONTH!! AHHH!!

Continued prayers that things go smoothly and all work out!!!

Lots of Changes for the Harwoods Lately

Lots of changes are in store for the Harwoods this year. Obviously, first of all we are expanding our family to 4!!! We were very excited when we found out, but knew we needed to get a bigger house for our growing family before this little one makes it's arrival. Obviously finding houses is what I do for a living, but it has been an interesting process for us this time. The Austin market is a bit crazy that there are many people looking to buy, but not as many people looking to sell. The inventory is really low right now, which is leading to good properties going within days of being listed and usually multiple offers are involved and over asking prices. So for the last couple of months we have been watching the areas we are interested. We have checked out several much nothing really of interest was out there.

Well last week we finally found one worth pursuing. We put in an offer on Saturday and by Sunday were under contract!! Very exciting! BUT, that meant we need to get our house ready to sell and FAST! Needless to say this has been a very stressful week. We needed to do a few things to the house and we wanted to declutterize and make it in more of a "showing" mood. Well, we finally did it!! So very soon a photographer is coming over today to take pictures and as soon as we get them back, our current house is getting LISTED!!! Looks like we'll be spending our weekend at other friend's houses to avoid messing up the house with a toddler.

So be praying for us! We have the inspection for the property we are buying today. Pray that it goes well. Pray that we get our current house listed and get it under contract this weekend!!! Pray that all goes smoothly and we can close on both properties over the next 6 weeks. As I well know in this business, nothing is for sure until all parties have signed the dotted line and all funds complete, so I am cautiously excited right now for our new house.

Here is hopefully the future Harwood House!

This is an old picture from when we bought the house, but here is our current house we are hoping to sell fast!!! :)

Help me Fight Cancer!!

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) 2014 Man & Woman of the Year Campaign has just kicked off and I am very pleased to be a campaign team member for my dear friend, Samantha Hale.   Being part of this campaign is an opportunity to help patients and their families in the ongoing fight against cancer.

The money raised will benefit the LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life for blood cancer patients and their families, as well as funding scientists to conduct the necessary research to find a cure.
Sadly, most of us know someone who has been affected by cancer.

My husband lost his mother, Laura Harwood, to leukemia in 2006.

I lost my maternal grandfather, Lawrence Anderson, to leukemia in 2001.

Also one of my dear friends, Taylor Peterson, is a survivor of Hodgkin’s disease.

I have several other family members who have been affected by other types of cancers as well. Research funded by the LLS crosses over and helps all forms of cancer.  The organization has invested over $814 million dollars towards this effort.

This campaign is also about Patton Jones, Jr. and Eva Gandhi – LLS’ 2014 Boy & Girl of the Year.  Patton Jones Jr. was diagnosed with Burkitt’s lymphoma in March 2011 at age three. Recognized as one of the fastest growing human tumors, Burkitt’s lymphoma is a non-Hodgkin’s form of lymphoma affecting the patient’s lymphatic system. Now at the age of five, Patton is happy to be in remission! Patton spends his days at school, playing with his friends or hanging out with his younger sister, Hallie. He is a friend of my god-daughter, Addison Hale.

Eva was diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma a rare and aggressive form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in September 2012. Soon after her diagnosis, Eva underwent intensive chemotherapy for 4 months.   After enduring excruciating chemotherapy Eva is now eleven years old and in remission!  She completed her last chemotherapy treatment in December of 2012.

The campaign dates are February 20th to May 2nd.
