Nursery Reveal

So I think we pretty much have Carter's room COMPLETE!!! Woohoo! I feel really good about that!

We went with the sports theme as Kevin and I both love sports so much and of course Kevin has aspirations of Carter being the next football, baseball, or basketball star! Also I wanted a theme that Carter could grow into. I didn't want it to babyish and then have to go out and buy all new stuff in a few years. So hopefully he'll like it and we can keep with the sports theme for 10 years or so.

I also decided not to paint his room. You see I'm in real estate and I'm really scarred from all the BAD paint jobs and all the random colors houses have. I'm all about the neutrals, especially if we are only going to live in this house for maybe 3-4 more years. I didn't want it painted blue or something and  then try and sell the house...so no paint!

So here it is!

Thanks to the new iPhone 5, I could do some panorama photos of the room. (Sorry for the bright sunlight!)

 Now for detailed pictures....

Here is his cute little rug to match his bedding and such. We wanted these awesome football and basketball rugs, but just decided we shouldn't spend that much money on them, so we settled for this one.

Here is one side of his room.

Here is a close up his wall shelves. I'll probably continue to add stuff to the shelves, but for now they house some picture frames and other sports stuff. They also how our 2, yes 2 baby cameras! Kevin insisted that we get a dropcam (the top one) which we can access with our iphones at anytime. It will also send you a notification if any movement and such happens. But also wanted a monitor I could just have on and hear immediately, so we got another one that has an awesome video monitor and such.

This is my favorite thing in his room. See how its a cute baseball... then look below...

Now its a little chair and ottoman for him! I love it!!

Here is a close up of his bedding. We went back and forth on the whole crib bumper and such. Every doctor and nurse tells us not to get a regular one, but many friends say they are fine. Obviously the normal ones are cuter, but we opted on the safe side and went with a breathable one. I also love the mobile. So cute!

LOVE these letters. One of my baby shower hostess had got them for the shower and gave them to me afterwards and I think they work perfect in his room.

Some cute decor that goes with his bedding.

Now this wall is right by the door to his room and we have cute hooks to hang stuff on. We also have a cute stool my friend Jamie made for Carter!

 A sign above his door.

Cute door tag my sister got Carter!

Here we have his dresser with his sound machine and humidifier on it. There is also a cute pillow on there and then a mirror above it!

This is actually a side table from my grandmother (who passed away this year) house. Love that it can be in his room next to the glider. We also have a cute lamp and trash can that matches his bedding.

Here's the glider with a cute pillow that has a basketball on one side and a baseball on the other.

Here is a picture of the other side of the room.

Here is his changing table with the dirty clothes basket. You can't really see it but the diaper genie is on the other side! Also with his diaper bags that we are getting ready for his arrival!

Here are some of the other wall decorations above and below!

We also have a 2nd living area (our loft) upstairs. Its where Kevin and I hang out the most when its just the two of us. So I decided I wanted a play area in there for Carter and a place to store all his toys and such. So here it is!!

Then I also decided Carter needed a kid bathroom since he'll be the one using it the most. So I redecorated it. It is still a work in progress and not completely done, but here is what we have so far...

Hope you liked the tour of what we've been working on these past few months. Now I'm just ready for our little one to make his arrival so he can start using it all!!!

Sick Harwoods

Well I'm into my 35th week of pregnancy and yesterday I was hit with swollen throat, stuffy nose, and a massive headache. Kevin's been sick for almost a week now with the same stuff and coughing. And now I have it. Kevin actually went to the doctor today to get a regular check up and some shots and while he was there the doctor assumed its allergies/sinuses that are running rampant right now in Austin apparently.

Well let me tell you, being 9 months pregnant and being sick at the same time, SUCKS!! My already lack of sleep was pretty much non existant last night as I couldn't breath and my head was killing me. I put a call into my doctor this morning to make sure I'm taking the best thing to get this over with as soon as possible and thats still ok for the baby. Mostly I don't want me being sick to affect him in anyway.

So I'm staying home today to try and shake this off, please pray Kevin and I both get better so we are both fully healthy by the time Carter makes his arrival!

34 Weeks

34 Weeks and counting!! Carter is now possibly the size of a large cantaloupe!!

He could be 19-22 inches long and around 5.5 lbs. Also I read that most of growth over the next month or so will be weight not height. So he could be about the height that he'll be at birth.

We had our doctor's appointment and we got lucky and got to see him again!! He was moving around like crazy in there!! We could see all his fingers individually which was cool. His heart rate is still good! And the nurse showed us how his lungs were moving and said he is practicing breathing right now!! Pretty neat!! Here are two pictures we got.

Here is a profile shot of his face.

Here you see his leg and foot. His little foot is actually pretty up against me right here. So cute!

We went shopping last week and this past weekend and got all the necessary items we still needed for when Carter makes his arrival!! And we have about got his room done! We made space in the kitchen cabinets for his stuff and are working on his little play area in our loft. Last thing to do is the bathroom. I was to redo it a bit with a ducky theme and such, so I still need a few things for that. I'm really feeling good that we have gotten so much done!!

We are looking forward to our next appointment in 2 weeks as it is our last 'BIG' appointment and we'll get a 30 minute sonogram with the sonographer and find out how big this boy is!!
