33 Weeks Today!!

At 33 weeks, Carter could weigh 4.2-5.8lbs and be up to 17.2-18.7 inches long if he's average; which means he's probably bigger than that. They say he's the size of a Honeydew Melon or a durian (never heard of it!)

Carter is now:

* Keeping his eyes open while awake
*Starting to coordinate breathing with sucking and swallowing
*His bones are hardening
*He's going through more major brain development
*His fingernails now reach the end of his fingertips
*Also I have noticed that he is hiccuping alot lately! At least I can feel it now. Kind of crazy!

We are heading to Dallas tomorrow for my last baby shower that my sister and sister-in-laws are throwing for me! We are super excited to celebrate Carter some more!

32 Week Doctor's Appointment

This morning we had our 32 Week Doctor's Appointment. I'm really almost 33 weeks, but Labor Day threw us off! I was so excited because I convinced the nurse to do a sonogram for fun so we could see our little one! Its been almost 13 weeks since our last one! She couldn't do measurements or anything but we could just look around and see him!

Oh my gosh it was exciting to see him again after all this time. I missed him! AND good news, he's HEAD DOWN!! YAY!!  Hopefully he'll stay that way! Today we saw his little face and cute nose! His lips were all puckered up! His heart beat was good too. Here are the 2 pictures she printed, not the greatest quality, but oh well!! :)

Here is a side profile of his face! You can see his little eyes and nose. At the top is one of his hands/arms coming around!

This one is a little bit harder to tell, but if you look closely you are looking up his nose at his nostrils! I thought it was so cool to actually see the two nostrils. Kevin thinks he definitely has his nose! You can also kind of see his lips puckered up!

LOVE my baby! The nurse also measured my belly and I'm measuring ahead, SURPRISE SURPRISE! She said I'm measuring 34-35 weeks. So 2-3 weeks ahead.

I have another regular appointment in 2 weeks, and then in 4 weeks, I have my last BIG appointment at 36 weeks. I'll have a 30 minute sonogram with the sonographers and get to see all his measurements and estimated weight and all that fun stuff! Then I'll meet with my doctor and go over alot of information and we might have to figure out a game plan if he's pretty big (which I'm assuming he is!) So I'm really looking forward to that appointment. After that I'll have weekly appointments until he's here!

Talking to the doctor today he said I'm his rock star patient! I haven't had many issues and everything just seems to continue to move along perfectly!! YAY! Hopefully that'll continue through labor and with Carter after he's born!!

32 Weeks

I'm 32 weeks today!! YAY! Getting closer! Less than 8 weeks. But really I'm going to say less than 5 weeks because technically I'm full term at 37 weeks!! I can have him anytime between 37-40 weeks and be considered full term! We have our next doctor's appointment next Wednesday and I'm praying I can convince them to do another sonogram for me, so we can see Carter!! After this appointment, we'll start having doctor visits every 2 weeks until after 36 weeks, then it'll be every week!!

They say Carter could now be the size of a pineapple or a squash!

At this point we are hoping Carter's head is facing down and he isn't breeched. If he's breeched at 36 weeks, my doctor will probably schedule a C-Section (which I'm trying to avoid)! No putting me under the knife unless absolutely necessary!!

There is a lot of getting up in the middle of the night, restless sleeping, and uncomfortableness. Back pains are definitely in full force and every time I stand up, the pressure and pain going down my legs to feet is pretty bad! BUT, I'm handling it and chugging along! Just ready for my little man to be here!

Tomorrow night I'm going to venture out and TRY to make it through the first TEXAS FOOTBALL game. I figured this may be my only chance to go to a game this year and I have to try and make it! It doesn't start til 7pm and our seats are in the upper deck (which has a nice breeze at night). There is an escalator and elevator that gets me up there. We also sit at the end of a row which will be nice if I need to get up and down! So wish me luck tomorrow that I make it through the game so I can cheer on my HORNS!!

Also this weekend, we are going to work really hard getting most of Carter's room done! We are going to hopefully getting our touch up paint debacle figured out and get the whole house, including his room touched up! Then we'll get all the stuff on the walls! After that we should be only missing a few things that hopefully we'll get over the next couple of weeks!

Then I want to get started on Carter's little play area in our loft that we are going to set up to store all his toys and such! We also need to clear space in our kitchen cabinets for Carter's bottles, and other kitchen wear! AND room needs to be made in the guest bath to put all his bathroom stuff! So I'm hoping we make some big progress this weekend with the holiday!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!!

Getting Closer...

Getting closer!! We have had a pretty productive week in regards to making decisions about Carter!

On Tuesday we decided on childcare! What we decided to do was since I'm having Carter in October, it would be kind of silly to start childcare around the holidays. So we are waiting until the beginning of January. Until then after the first few weeks, if I have things to do at the office, I'll just bring him up there with me since he'll probably be sleeping mostly and my office is pretty dead anyways. And if I need to do any showings with clients and stuff I'll just schedule that around when Kevin can watch him and such! But my plan is starting in January I'll take Carter to childcare 3 days a week, MWF and then I'll hang out with him at home (or cruising around town) on T/TH. We had problems for awhile trying to find someone or something that would do 3 days a week. But we met with a lady last weekend who does childcare out of her home with her mother-in-law. They live in our neighborhood and watch other kids in the neighborhood. They seemed great and even watch several teacher kids that work at the elementary by our house. She's very affordable and flexible with our schedule. I talked to a few references and everyone loves it! There will never be more than 4 infants and 5-6 toddlers. The infants even have their own room and area separate from the toddlers! Anyways, we are super excited about it! I think it really is going to work out great for us!

We also decided on banking our baby's cord blood. It was a long, hard decision to make as it does cost a decent amount of money. But we had a REALLY great coupon that is going to help us out. At the end of the day, we just decided we'd rather be safe than sorry. I would hate for something to happen where we could have used it and we didn't collect it. With technology also going where it is, who knows what other diseases it could help out with in the future.

Also we have narrowed down newborn photographers and are close to making a decision about that!!

Tonight we head up to Dallas as Kevin's sister, Holly is getting married Saturday. Busy weekend ahead!
