Christmas 2013

We had a great Christmas this year with family. It was fun to see Carter actually awake and interested in Christmas this year! He enjoyed taking bows off presents at Grandmothers before hand. He loved carrying the presents around the house. Once we opened them he seemed excited to play with some of the gifts after we opened them. Can't wait until he gets even more into in the coming years.

Merry Christmas From The Harwoods

Merry Christmas From The Harwoods

We hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and take time to remember what Christmas is all about. God sending His Son to earth in the flesh so that He would suffer and die for us and our sins. What good news that is for us!!

"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John bore witness about him and cried out, "This was he of whom I said, 'He who comes after me ranks before me, because he was before.'") For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known." John 1:14-18 ESV

The History of Redemption

A great sermon that Ronnie preached several years ago!! The History of Redemption only using scripture.

Deep Thoughts For Today...

Yesterday our church lost a leader who was murdered overseas. If you read the news, then you probably heard about it. Before going overseas, he was one of our pastors that preached a lot. I was around him, wouldn't say I knew him on a personal level, but saw him and his wife around church and heard him preach. I remember their story of deciding to move.

Anyways, after finding out about the tragic news yesterday, my first thoughts were oh my gosh, I can't believe this. WHY? His poor wife and son and what they must be going through. Why were they in such a hostile country right now? Why God?

But immediately after that my thoughts turned to more like he's in a better place. He's with God right now. And I just started thinking about that. He was following God's calling on his life. God called him to GO and he WENT. I just imagined him going into heaven and God saying, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

Which then made me reflect. Will God say that to me if something happened to me today? Obviously right now in my life, I don't feel like God is calling me to GO somewhere. But what is God calling me to do RIGHT NOW HERE?? It is really challenging me to seek out what God is calling me to do in my life that maybe I'm not doing right now. I pray that you ask yourself that question today too. I'm praying that God will reveal to me things He wants me doing right now in my life. What can I be doing to spread God's WORD? What can I be doing to spread God's LOVE?

Yesterday I was searching on twitter about the news and came across some hashtags that some of his students overseas were posting about him. What a difference he had made in their lives? Great memories of him and it made me smile that he really made an impact over there, following God's lead and spreading love.

Thanksgiving 2013

Well to say we had a great Thanksgiving week would be an understatement. Tuesday we loaded up and flew out to Alabama to spend Thanksgiving with Kevin's family.  It was great to spend time with them, especially Kevin's grandparents and for Kevin's mom's side of the family to meet Carter. On Thanksgiving morning we headed to Thanksgiving lunch with that side of the family and got to spend some quality time with his MawMaw and PawPaw. They really enjoyed getting to see Carter again. That night we had Thanksgiving dinner with Kevin's dad and then watched the Longhorns beat Tech!! HOOK 'EM!

On Friday we headed back to Austin and had a ROUGH last leg with Carter-Man!! Needed a big glass of wine after that one. But then that night I got to meet the newest addition to the Hale Family...Hudson Dean Hale. So excited for them and their family of 6 now!! Love them to pieces.

Then Saturday we had the BIG Auburn/Alabama game. Needless to say, it was the biggest/craziest Iron Bowl EVER. They won with 1 second left on a crazy return. If you haven't seen the play, google it. AWESOME!! We were a happy family.

Carter cheering with his pom poms!

Even my parents were sporting their Auburn gear!! Thats a big deal for my Longhorn parents!

 WE WON WE WON!!

Sarah's Shower Weekend

Well this past weekend was all about one of my besties, Sarah!! Saturday morning we had a bridal shower for her at my house. The theme was "Fall"ing in Love. Then that afternoon her and all her girlfriends headed out to Lakeway Resort & Spa for her Bachelorette Party! We had dinner that night, had a lingerie shower, and just had good ole fashion girl time!! Love Sarah to death and can't wait for her and Chad's wedding in January!
