TX/OU Weekend 2013

Last weekend was the annual TX/OU weekend and needless to say, it will go down in the history books as a BIG one!! I was fully prepared we were going to lose, but I'm not sure what team showed up because WE WON!! We dominated that game on both sides of the ball. I was HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!! Our friends Sarah and Chad went with us and this was Sarah's first time to the fair and game! And Chad (Sarah's fiance) is an OU fan, so we tried to tame our excited a bit for his sake!

This Matters Poems 1 & 2

We are doing a series at The Austin Stone called "This Matters." I plan to blog more about it soon and the actions we are taking with it, but the last 2 weeks they've had poets write and record poems and I'm obsessed with them. LOVE them, check them out below.

Carter's 11 Months Old

I know I say this every month, but WOW has time flown. I mean in one month we will be celebrating this BIG guys 1st Birthday!!

**Carter finally got his first tooth this past month, just after turning 10 months old. And as of last week he has a second tooth that has just broken through the gums.

**Carter is still sleeping through the night! He sleeps in the 10-11 hour range usually.

**He's napping like a champ, thankfully we've come a long way since he was younger and hated napping! 2 naps a day that range from an hour-an hour and a half.

**He still loves food!! Not much he doesn't like. Although he's funny and one day he LOVES something, but the next day he has no desire to eat the same thing. Funny kid sometimes.

**He's very into throwing his food on the floor, which I loathe obviously! Trying to teach him not to do that, but its not going so well right now.

**We are still doing swim lessons and he's doing great! He goes under the water for 4-5 seconds!! He LOVES swimming.

**Carter is just drinking out of sippy cups these days for water and milk except at bedtime, he still has a bottle. This next month we'll work on making that a sippy cup too!

**Carter started WALKING. Not walking all the time, but he'll take a few steps sometimes if standing up or if we stand him up in front of us. Still a bit wobbly which makes me nervous for him to practice on the wood and tile downstairs, so we try and just practice on the carpet upstairs.

**He's talking a bunch more lately. Still only saying dada and mama, but has conversations with me more in his own little language.

**He's mastered waving bye bye.

**He loves throwing a ball and other things. He also loves pulling books off his shelf or taking every toy out of his bins.

**Still very much in a clingy stage. When does this end?? Always wants mama to hold him. I try hard to get him interested in other things, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Love, love this sweet boy!! Can't wait for his birthday festivities next month!

Football Season is HERE!

Last weekend was exciting because TEXAS FOOTBALL started!! My parents have had season ticket forever and last year I only got to attend one game as I was 8 months pregnant and then obviously I had Carter! So I have really been looking forward to this football season so I can go to more games. And since my sister and Patrick are in Chicago one more year, I pretty much get to go to every game I want.

My parents are trying to get Carter to a game, but we'll have to wait until it cools down and we don't have a night game. So last weekend I went by myself with my parents while Kevin stayed home and watched Carter since the Auburn game was on at the same time!!

Carter got ready in the morning and put on his Longhorn gear!!

Also can you believe this was me last year?? What a difference a year makes!

Ohh how it was nice to be back at DKR- Royal Memorial

And while I was away, Kevin changed Carter so they could cheer on Auburn!

College Football has arrived, so exciting!
