Austin Baby Shower

Today I was thrown a wonderful shower by two of my besties, Samantha and Sarah!! They really outdid themselves! It was a baseball theme and it was soo cute! I'm so thankful to have them in my lives; they mean so much to me! 

Kevin even showed up at the end during gifts and got to see all the goods we got!

30 Weeks

WOW! 30 weeks, less than 10 weeks to go. I remember 30 use to sound so far away, I can't believe its here!

So they say the baby is the size of a cucumber or 4 navel oranges.

He could be growing up to a 1 lb a week from here on out. The baby's skin is starting to get smoother now, but his brain is getting more wrinkled to make way for all the essential brain tissue. And he's apparently strong enough now to grasp a finger!

Some symptoms they say I might be experiencing now:

*Heartburn- YEP
*Swelling- YEP
*General Discomfort- YEP
*Shortness of Breath- YEP
*Trouble Sleeping- YEP
*Weird, Vivid Dreams- Uhhh maybe some, but not about the baby

Tomorrow I have a baby shower here in Austin! I'm super excited about it! Ready to celebrate this bundle of joy inside of me!!

29 Weeks!!

Today I'm officially 29 weeks pregnant, less than 11 weeks to go!

We had our doctor's appointment on Monday, but I was really bummed out because we didn't get another sonogram/ultrasound. I swore we were going to, but they said nope, not again until 36 week!! I can't wait that long! We were so spoiled on the front end. I had one every appointment through 20 weeks, but I haven't had one since. So now I really have to try and convince Kevin to let me do one of those 3D/4D ultrasounds from somewhere else!! CROSS OUR FINGERS!

We did get to hear his little heart beat!! And they measured my belly and said I'm right on time. So I'm curious if Carter is slowing down in size and maybe won't be as big. Guess we won't know for a while.

This week, Carter is supposably the size of an Acorn Squash. He is apparently close to 17 inches and could be up to 3.8 lbs.

I haven't really started having Braxton Hicks contractions yet (at least I dont think so). My doctors said that can start around 28 weeks. They said it doesn't hurt, just a tightening feeling. So we'll see!

Baby C is moving alot still. I can sometimes see like lumps or a bulge in certain areas of my stomach, so I assume that is some part of his body pushing up again me. Pretty cool.

Lately we have been looking up photographers to use for newborn photographs. Dude! Why are they so expensive?? And most dont even let you have the digital copies. The average was that it cost $100 per image to get digitally. CRAZY!! I have found two that take good shots, that let us have so many digital copies for a flat rate and dont require a purchase minimum. So Kevin and I trying to figure out what to do. I really want a professional taking his newborn shots, not just me. But we'll see!

Also we're still trying to figure out if banking our baby's cord blood is worth the investment. Its a pretty steep price to do it, but I have a significant discount coupon that I could use. Its just hard because who knows if we'll ever need it. So is it worth the risk to invest that much money into something we may never use? But at the same time, technology and science are coming such a long way and who knows where it could be someday to where it could be beneficial. And I would just feel AWFUL if something happen to our kids and we needed and didn't do. SUCH a hard decision! Our doctor said if we could afford it, do it. Decisions, decisions.

On Monday we had a infant/child CPR training class. We learned alot, but it WORE me out! Having to practice CPR and being pregnant isn't fun! Tomorrow though we have our childbirth class!! 9AM-3:30PM!! Its gonna be a long day. We'll also get to tour the hospital and the labor and delivery wing, so I'm excited about that! Wish us luck that we learn everything and aren't totally exhausted by the end of the day!

Anniversary Recap

We had a great 3rd anniversary yesterday!! I woke up and made Kevin breakfast! For our anniversary, the anniversary gift theme is leather for year 3, so Kevin and I bought ourselves a new leather storage ottoman for downstairs. Thought this would be more kid friendly than our glass one we have now and we can store diapers and toys and such for Carter in it!! We love it!

Kevin also surprised me yesterday with a new BLENDER! And apparently its the best blender out there. I've been telling him how crappy our other one is when I make smoothies. I love it!

Then for Kevin I gave him a gift every hour, 3 minutes past the top of the hour. I saw this idea on pinterest and thought it was cute. But since its our 3rd anniversary, I labeled every gift to open at 8:03 AM or 1:03PM, so signify our 3rd anniversary. So he had a gift to open every hour from 7:03AM-10:03PM. I just got him a bunch of smaller things he likes or thought he could use. I think he enjoyed opening gifts all day. Look at all his loot!

Kevin left work around lunch time yesterday and came home to work from home the rest of the day. So I brought us lunch to the house so we could eat together! I enjoyed that!!

Then yesterday evening we went out to dinner to Vince Young's Steakhouse. I've been once before and Kevin's been a couple of times, but both of us still agree they have the BEST steaks we've ever eaten!! Literally they just melt in your mouth. Last night didn't disappoint. It was great!! We even got a free dessert because it was our anniversary!!

After that we hit up Whole Foods and browsed and found us some fun treats to enjoy!! Mini Cannoli's and Smores Cups. YUMMM

We had a great anniversary. It was our last as just the 2 of us!! We took advantage and enjoy our time together!!

3rd Anniversary!

Today, Kevin and I are celebrating our 3rd ANNIVERSARY!!

 Kevin, I honestly couldn't have ask God for a better man to be my husband. You far exceeded my expectations. You are patient, kind, and caring. You love me with all your heart! You are not only my husband, but my best friend and you have made my life better by being in it!

3 years have flown by, it seems like yesterday I was up getting ready to walk down that aisle to meet you! At the same time, I don't really remember life without you. 

I can't wait to see what God has in store for us with the future. We are about to embark on the next chapter of our lives, parenthood!!! I know you are going to be the best daddy in the world!! Our son is going to be so blessed to have you as his father!

Twin's 2nd Birthday Party

Today we celebrated Brooklynn & Braden's 2nd Birthday!!! I can't believe how fast they are growing.

28 Weeks

Well, I'm 28 weeks today!! Crazy how time is flying by; less than 12 weeks now to go!! I'm officially in my 3rd trimester now too!! Final stretch!

I have my doctor's appointment on Monday and I'm hoping we get to see Carter as we didn't get to at our last appointment so it has been 2 months since we've seen our baby boy!! I'm really curious to see how big he's getting!!

My numerous baby apps tell me Carter is the size of an eggplant, head of cauliflower, or a chinese cabbage this week. He should be almost 17 inches long and close to 3lbs. Again we'll see if he's ahead of that or not Monday.

Most things I've read said that if for some reason he was born at this point, he has a high chance of living, but we want him to stay in as long as possible so he can be healthy!

I'm definitely getting to the uncomfortable stage of pregnancy. My lower back kills me especially if I've been laying on the couch and get up. I can barely walk. This past weekend my feet started swelling some! Most people probably wouldn't notice it, but Kevin and I did. Also my wedding ring doesn't fit very well as of this past weekend as well. Its a pretty thick band, so I usually can shove it on, but getting it off is a different story. So I started wearing my blue topaz ring Kevin gave me last year on my left hand!

I'm also realizing I just can't do as much anymore. I get too exhausted and start hurting. Yesterday I walked around Target for awhile and that combined with this ridiculous heat just did me in.
