Carter's Baby Furniture

We ordered Carter's furniture for his room and it should be here within a week!! YAY!!! I love it, don't you? We got all 3 pieces for a really reasonable price through Amazon!!! This crib was rated as one of the top cribs of 2012!! AND its about half the price of most I've seen in stores.

So excited to start getting his room together!

A Glorious Weekend

This weekend is the kind of weekend I know won't be happening once Carter arrives. Well except for the occasional mom and dad weekend getaways (which will be happening!)

Saturday morning, I woke up around 8am, but laid in bed until around 11am. SO NICE! I did a few things on my computer, read some pregnancy and infant books. Then got ready, had some lunch, went and got my wedding ring cleaned, picked up some snacks for Kevin, and then headed to the airport!! I couldn't WAIT for Kevin to get in!

I decided to park the car and meet Kevin inside since I knew he'd probably be hungry and I just couldn't wait to see him any longer! I was soooooooo happy to see him again! I missed him terribly last week. Afterwards we came home did a few things and then just laid on the couch for the rest of the afternoon and watched some TV. It was great! That night we went to dinner and then back to relaxing it was!!

Sunday morning, we slept in until around 9am! Again so nice!! We did a few things in Carter's room and cleared it out some more (SO CLOSE!). It was great just getting to spend time together! Had lunch together after that, and then went and got SNO BEACH snow cones! If you haven't had them in Austin, you need to, NOW!

We worked some more on Carter's room and then laid on the couch after that. For dinner I decided to fix Kevin and nice home cooked meal! I tried out some pinterest receipes and they were a success!

Check them out here:

We rounded out the dinner with Salmon I cooked Kevin and some salad!! Kevin was in heaven!! Good meal, I must say! After that we just relaxed and went to bed early because Kevin had an early flight to catch!

So now he's gone again! :( He had to leave the house around 4AM today (poor thing!). He's Atlanta until Wednesday afternoon meeting with some clients. I enjoyed having him home, even if it was literally for 36 hours. Can't wait until he's back Wednesday and hopefully he won't be traveling for work anytime soon!! :)

When Kevin's gone...

Well Kevin left for San Francisco last Saturday morning and doesn't get back until tomorrow afternoon.  He's there for Apple's annual Developers Conference. To tell you he was excited about this trip would be an understatement. He has been looking forward to this for quite awhile! So I know he's having a good time up there. I just miss him here at home!

I don't think I've been away from Kevin this long since I went on a week long cruise when we were dating. Thankfully, Kevin's sister, Heather decided to come down and visit me on Monday through Wednesday! I really enjoyed it! She even brought presents for Carter!!! YAY! The last 2 nights have been spent just catching up on some TV and relaxing. I probably should be doing stuff around the house, but when you're pregnant you just don't seem motivated to do that stuff, haha!

Wednesday I got to see these two babies! Well they really aren't babies anymore! They will be 2 in August! MAN how time flies!! Love me some Brooklynn and Braden time.

Tonight I am planning on hanging out with my bestie Sarah!! She's been gone all week, so I've missed her too!! Can't wait for some girl time!

Kevin gets back tomorrow afternoon, but while he was in San Fran he found out he's having to leave early Monday morning to visit a client in Atlanta until Wednesday! BOOO! We just need to get all this traveling out of the way right now because him traveling when I'm 8-9 months pregnant will not be ok! :)

I'm 21 weeks today! Baby is moving like crazy!! I feel great, just getting bigger out front in my mid section! Ready for Kevin to get home so we can order Carter's crib and such and get going on his room!!!

Never Once

We sang this at church this morning and it brought me to tears, especially after the week I've had.  Just wanted to share...

"Never Once"
By: Matt Redman

Standing on this mountaintop
Looking just how far we’ve come
Knowing that for every step
You were with us

Kneeling on this battle ground
Seeing just how much You’ve done
Knowing every victory
Was Your power in us

Scars and struggles on the way
But with joy our hearts can say
Yes, our hearts can say

Never once did we ever walk alone
Never once did You leave us on our own
You are faithful, God, You are faithful

Kneeling on this battle ground
Seeing just how much You’ve done
Knowing every victory
Was Your power in us

Scars and struggles on the way
But with joy our hearts can say
Yes, our hearts can say

Never once did we ever walk alone
Never once did You leave us on our own
You are faithful, God, You are faithful
You are faithful, God, You are faithful

Scars and struggles on the way
But with joy our hearts can say
Never once did we ever walk alone
Carried by Your constant grace
Held within Your perfect peace
Never once, no, we never walk alone

Never once did we ever walk alone
Never once did You leave us on our own
You are faithful, God, You are faithful

Every step we are breathing in Your grace
Evermore we’ll be breathing out Your praise
You are faithful, God, You are faithful
You are faithful, God, You are faithful

You are faithful, God, You are faithful
You are faithful, God, You are faithful

20 Weeks

Its been a hard week....

But today was a nice change because we had our 20 week appointment. Everyone's told me this is the fun one because the sonogram is pretty in depth. They go through and look at everything to make sure its all looking good!! Well as the nurse said, we get 100!! Everything looked GREAT!

Carter is even measuring a week ahead, which means we have a big boy. He's in the 80% of size. You can thank my 6'5'' husband for that! Hopefully this 5'2'' woman can handle it!

We got alot of information today about child birth classes, infant care classes, breastfeeding classes, child CPR training, etc!! Lots of things we have to do in the coming months.

Carter has definitely been moving around a bunch! Today even at the sonogram, his head at the beginning was up at my belly button, but by the end he was flipped downwards. He's doing summersaults in there! Kevin actually got to feel him for the first time Wednesday as well! Pretty cool! Although, the feeling isn't quite what I thought it was going to be like. No punch like kicks (at least yet!), more like little flutters and such.

Last weekend my parents came into town on Saturday and we went by a baby store and they got us part of Carter's bedding set!! I'm sooo excited. Now we need to just order the crib so I can start nesting! Ohh and I guess we have to get that room cleaned out too.

But today was a good day. I got to see my baby and he's growing so fast! I can't wait to meet him!

Grandmommy

Early yesterday morning, my Grandmommy went and met Jesus.

This is my mom's mom and we have always been close with her throughout our lives and her and my Granddaddy lived in Ft. Worth. She is whom I'm named after; Alice Ann Anderson.

She survived breast cancer in the early 90s. She survived losing my Grandaddy in 2001 of Leukemia.  But over the last couple of years she has been constantly bothered with different aliments and most of the time, the doctors never knowing exactly what was going on. She's been in and out of the hospital alot, but still determined to make it and live at home with her 2 cats. Late Saturday she went to the hospital again, but this time she wouldn't go back home, at least to her physical home. But she is now home in heaven and with Granddaddy.

I miss her so much already. The last time I saw her was at the beginning on May when she was in a rehab facility trying to get back home.

She has always been a huge part of my life and I really can't imagine it without her. I loved growing up getting together with her and the rest of my mom's family (as she has 2 sisters and a brother). We would all get together at least once a month to celebrate holidays or someone's birthday. I loved having slumber parties at her house when we were younger. We'd pop popcorn, order pizza, and watch movies.  We actually did this for the first time in a long time around Christmas at her house with all the grandkids and I'm so thankful we got to do that one last time with her before she was gone.

I was so hoping she would live and be around to meet Carter. It honestly breaks my heart that she won't. But he will have a piece of her and his middle name is Anderson.

She was my last grandparent alive. Now there are none left. Sometimes it sucks growing up and watching people leave your life. But I know they are in a better place and not suffering anymore. What better place than to be in heaven, the most perfect place to be with Jesus!!

Grandmommy, I love you so much and miss you more than you'll ever know!!! Please tell Granddaddy I love him too!

First Big Baby Purchase!!

Last weekend we made out first big purchase for Carter!! We found this glider at Buy Buy Baby back in March in Alabama. We thought it was soo neat! For one its nice and big which is great for Kevin who is 6'5'' but it also has something we hadn't ever seen before, this pillow backing that comes down for nursing!

Well when it came to register, we went to Buy Buy Baby here in Austin and I tried to explain the chair and they had never heard of anything like it! After finally calling the Birmingham store they figured out what chair it was but said it really wasn't available anymore. CRAZY! So we ended up registering for another one.

Long story short, I told Kevin's dad about all the drama and he decided we should go back by the store in Alabama when we were there last weekend. So we did got all the model info and such. They were going to order it, but in the end we found it cheaper online somewhere else and in the colors we wanted!

So Kevin's dad decided he'd buy the glider for us as his gift for the baby! So wonderful!

It takes up to 6-8 weeks to get it in, but I can't wait!! The glider rocks and reclines and so does the ottoman we got to go with it!! It is a Dutailier Nursing Grand XL Modern Style Glider in case anyone is curious! LOVE IT!!
