Chuck E Cheese with Addison

So yesterday Kevin and I went with Addison to Chuck E Cheese!  We had a good time! I think Addison gets a bit overwhelmed by all the things to do there! Of course her favorite part was finally getting to see the "REAL" Chuck E Cheese when he came out! She wanted to give him a high five, and then he started to walk off and she wanted to give him knocks, and then he started to walk off again and she wanted to give him a hug! It was precious!!

I think Beau and Kevin had a fun time using the tokens to play games!! Of course they were doing it to win Addison tickets, but they enjoyed themselves too!!

A fun filled Saturday!

We have a fun filled Saturday this past weekend! My parents came into town and the 4 of us woke up early and headed down to Stonewall, Texas! We went and toured President LBJ's Ranch. We saw where he went to school, where he was born, and his Ranch House. It was named the "Texas White House" while he was president. I've been down the ranch before when I was younger but they recently opened up the house after Lady Bird Johnson passed away. It was neat to see the inside of it! Not all of it was open, but what we did see was interesting! My family loves LBJ and it was fun to show Kevin more about him.

After that we headed to Fredericksburg for some lunch. We ended up going to Catfish Haven on Main Street. REALLY GOOD! Then we hit up about 5 different wineries between Fredericksburg and Johnson City. We had a great time!!!

We ended the night by going to watch my #1 RANKED TEXAS LONGHORN BASEBALL TEAM beat Baylor in a 14 inning game!! It was an intense but fun game!! HOOK 'EM!

Kevin's First Camping Experience

So Kevin has NEVER been camping before! Our small group has talked about doing a couples camping trip for awhile but Kevin has always stated camping isn't for him because he enjoys modern technology too much! HAHA! The guys in our group even had a camping trip a few months ago and everyone went BUT Kevin! So we decieded that we were gonna go on this camping trip and I was going to make Kevin go no matter what!

Somehow in the midst of planning the trip, Kevin talked with another guy in our group about learning how to smoke a brisket. So they decided that he'd teach Kevin on the camping trip since it was like a 12-14 hour process. KEVIN WAS IN, just so he could learn how to smoke a brisket properly! YAY!

So this past weekend was the camping trip. We stayed two nights, which I haven't even done before. The first night was a bit rough because it stormed in the middle of the night and our old tent we borrowed from my parents had some holes in the roof, so we got a little wet and Kevin got NO sleep!

Other than the rainy night I would say we had a successful camping trip and it was better than Kevin expected! The boys played bocce ball all day Saturday, some people fished, and we had smores Saturday night ( MY FAVORITE!!!)

So we had a fun weekend, we were for sure TIRED and SORE yesterday after we got home and need a bit to recover, but it was fun!

Kevin cutting up his first brisket he helped make!! So proud of him and EVERYONE LOVED IT!!!

The last time we were at the Oasis was for our rehearsal dinner and there were little islands everyone because the water was soo low!

Sunday we went to church and heard Matt's great sermon!! Check it out HERE ! Then we came home and all had Easter lunch together before everyone had to head back home!! We also got TONS of candy from everyone!!! Anyone want to help us eat it all???

Hanky Belle 1996-2010

Today we had to put our family dog Hanky Belle down. She lived with us for 13 wonderful years! She was getting pretty old and dealing with hearing, seeing, and arthritis issues.

My parents found her in the summer for 1996 at their ranch one day. It was actually a funny story, they got to the ranch and heard a whimpering coming from the barn. They thought it was a coyote because neighbors had been spotting them around. So my dad pulled out his pistol getting ready to shoot if so, and they opened the barn doors and out trots this cute little fuzz ball of a puppy!!! They went around to all the neighbors to see if it was anyones dog and it wasn't. Some neighbors said many people have been dumping puppies they didn't want off the side of the roads. So Hanky they think survived off bugs and such until they found her out at the ranch.

When they brought her home of course my sister and I were super excited!!! Hanky became my little baby...I took care of her and got up with her in the middle of the night when she would cry!! Of course during my dramatic teenage years, I would always go outside and play with her and talk to her because she'd make me feel better!!

She's been such a wonderful dog and I love her sooo much. I'm going to miss her terribly but I know she isn't suffering anymore and I should be grateful for that! Its hard but she did live a wonderful life and made my life better by being in it!

Joe's Crab Shack

So for some reason, Kevin has NEVER been to Joe's Crab Shack. He LOVES seafood, especially crab and shrimp. So I have been saying forever that I needed to take him there to try it! I'm not a seafood person, but I knew he would love it so finally we went last night!!

Kevin decided to get one of their steam pots that looked huge. So he said he'd get that and take the left overs to work on Monday. Needless to say that boy was in heaven that he ate EVERY LAST BIT of his pot! He even finished off the rest of my chicken sandwich! Guess he liked it! ;)
